Dental X-Rays

X-rays are our best tool. They help us see what can't be seen with the naked eye. Dental X-rays are images of your whole mouth structure, including: teeth, jaw bones, soft tissues, and the surrounding area. These images help us find problems such as cavities, teeth that have not emerged (such as wisdom teeth) and may be impacted, and bone loss.

We have two types of X-rays we can use in our office.

X-rays (Radiographs)

X-rays are our primary tool for early detection of dental problems. This helps us save you time, pain, and money. Preventing the need for more extensive, expensive restorative procedures or surgeries by catching things early are for your benefit. We use X-rays to detect many issues including:
•  Teeth that are still coming in.
•  Internal tooth decay.
•  Cysts due to infection.
•  Tumors or lumps, both cancerous and non-cancerous.
•  Impacted teeth, including Wisdom teeth.

Digital X-rays

Digital X-rays are being used more and more. They offer many advantages over traditional film based X-rays:
•  They emit considerably less radiation.
•  They are instantly ready.
•  They are viewed on a computer screen.
•  Their image is very clear and can be enlarged.
•  They are greener/better for the environment.
•  No chemicals are involved in the processing.
